Kiwi's Michael Pickens, Shaun Insley and Brad Mosen showed the Austalians how it's done. Brown Dog was the first one to break thru the field only to have a power steering line blow as he hit second place. From there the kiwi's and the lone American Keven Swindell put on what was said to be Austalia's best race all year! But when the dust setilled it was Pickens (spike) with the win Shaun second (Aggressor) and Mosen third (Aggressor) the action move's to Brisbane this weekend. |

BARRY BUTTERWORTH MEMORIAL |

The midgets made their once a year show at Waikaraka Park saturday April 4th for the Barry Butterworth 40 Lap Classic. Top qualifier from the heats had the opportunity to take an extra $5000:00 and start off the back. Aggressor driver Lance Beale, never one to turn down a challenge (or a cheque) did just that. "Barry would have done it like that" said Lance, "and so can we". The majority of the 40 laps turned out to be a memorable battle between Pickens, Alach, Mosen and Buckley, with Pickens (Breka) taking the honours from Alach and Buckley (Aggressor) Beale, true to the spirit, battled his Aggressor through the field to record 8th. The big movers in the field finishing 4th,5th were Standring and Insley after having to go to rear of field after early spins. |
