BSL RACING INTO THE FUTURE |
|
With the season half way through things are all fired up at BSL RACING.
With more dealerships and an increased parts inventory for 2010, BSL RACING will continue to lead the way in open wheel racing. Big plans are already underway at the shop after such a successful season to date with our AGGRESSOR , BREKA and SPIKE chassis'.
Following on from breaking the track record at the Springs on debut and a string of feature wins including the 30Lap World Derby in his new BREKA the jigs are in action again with orders already being taken for new cars.
Stratford's Duane Hickman has been very impressive in his new BREKA taking out the Taranaki Champs and Dave Kerr won the South Island champs for the 3rd year running in his new BREKA. Also debuting a new BREKA at the South Island Champs was Gary Chadwick who came home 3rd in the title.
On the AGGRESSOR front Brad Mosen has had a great run going with a win in the 40Lap King of the Springs International and strong finishes to date,.
Team HLR with Lance Beale, Hayden Williams and Jody Vincent have shown strong performances with Hayden recently taking out the Huntly Champs.
Huntly's Jason Bunney has been in top form this season and currently leads the track points, along with Michael Brunt who recently won the Waikato Champs both in AGGRESSORS.
As the New Zealand dealers for SPIKE chassis we are working hard on the BSL RACING SPIKE driven by Shayne Alach, showing great speed Shayne has been in top form from the first meeting and backed it up with a feature win at the Springs recently, Jerry Coons from the USA was very quick in the International Series and took out the 50 Lapper.
Once again BREKA TQ's are leading the way with Ross Linklater on top of the National Series points. Chris Gwilliam has shown good pace in his new BREKA with a feature win, he sits 4th on points for the National series.
A development programme for the AGGRESSOR TQ has had great results with BSL RACING fabricator Kaz Townsend showing good pace in his rookie season.
A new BREKA Minisprint is on the drawing board after the huge success they have had in recent years, some new ideas from the BSL Team will step the game up once again.
ChiliBowl would have to be the biggest story of the year for BSL RACING.
An idea by Simon Longdill and Luke Fisher to take a car to the biggest midget race in the world became reality.
BSL manager Tim Clark was asked to give his input and travel to Tulsa to run the cars. Major updates and modifications were done on the AGGRESSORS before being tested at the Huntly 40Lapper and shipped to the USA.
Michael Pickens ran a close 2nd in the A Main for his qualifying night and Brad Mosen 3rd in his A main qualifying, this locked them both into the A main for Saturday night leaving many of the top USA teams scratching there heads at what the Kiwi team had done.
Pickens got as high as 2nd in the Main before bending a torque tube and Brad got to 7th, a great result for the Synergy Racing and BSL Racing.
Design for the new 2010 AGGRESSOR will utilise ideas from the development of the cars used at ChiliBowl.
Following on from the success of the cars we already have a number of orders from both the USA and NZ.
Keep an eye on our new "SPECIALS" page of the site which will be up and running soon!!
Good luck for the rest of the season...
